Orthopaedic surgeons in the early stages of their careers often face unique challenges in the operating room. From feelings of inadequacy to difficult cases, it’s important to recognize that even seasoned professionals have been there. The Orthopaedic Trauma Association (OTA) is hosting Struggles in the OR in Early Practice and Beyond, a live web event specifically designed for residents, fellows, and early-career attendings to provide much-needed support and insights.
What to Expect
During this one-hour session, attendees will hear real stories from experienced surgeons, including practical advice for handling difficult cases. Discussions will include methods for seeking support during challenging surgeries and strategies for recovering from cases that didn’t go as planned. Whether you’re just starting out or looking for reassurance that you’re not alone, this session will provide invaluable guidance.
Faculty
The session will be moderated by Dr. Jane Liu, with expert insights from Dr. Michael Archdeacon and Dr. Giselle Hernandez, both of whom bring years of experience and perspective to the discussion.
